The new Government’s promise to abolish the FSA is ringing true.
George Osborne’s Mansion House speech confirmed that the FSA will continue in its role as the UK’s financial advisory body until 2012 after which it will be broken up, with the part that supervises financial institutions continuing as the Prudential Regulatory Authority under the remit of the Bank of England.
